Flagship Programme
AI risk governance
Making AI risks measurable and controllable — with a path to transfer.
Why this programme
The challenge we are addressing
AI is being deployed faster than organisations can reliably understand, assess and manage its risks. Existing governance approaches are often fragmented, compliance-driven and difficult to apply consistently as AI systems, use cases and regulations evolve. Organisations need more practical and evidence-based ways to identify emerging risks, evaluate their potential impact, determine appropriate controls and continuously monitor whether those controls remain effective throughout the AI lifecycle.
Our vision
A world where AI risk is measured, controlled, and ready for transfer.
Our distinctive position
OXFIDA brings together expertise in risk, resilience, AI governance and advanced technologies, with a strong focus on translating research into practical solutions. Based in Oxford, we are well positioned to collaborate with leading researchers and draw on a world-class interdisciplinary research ecosystem. Our strength lies in connecting academic insight, applied research, engineering and real-world experimentation, enabling us to develop and validate new approaches to AI risk governance and move them from research concepts toward practical deployment.
